[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his administration's performance has declined for three consecutive weeks. The approval rating, which exceeded 40% at the end of the year and the beginning of the year, dropped to the mid-30% range after the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to the regular public opinion poll conducted by Realmeter on the 30th (commissioned by Media Tribune, conducted from the 25th to the 27th targeting 1,504 adults aged 18 and over nationwide using an ARS automated response method), President Yoon's approval rating recorded 37.0%, down 1.7 percentage points from the previous week's survey.
The negative evaluation that "the administration is performing poorly" rose by 1.0 percentage point to 59.8%.
By region, approval ratings fell by 6.3 percentage points in Seoul (42.2%→35.9%) and Incheon·Gyeonggi (39.6%→33.3%). By age group, those aged 70 and over showed a notable decline of 6.1 percentage points (63.7%→57.6%).
By political party, the Democratic Party of Korea's approval rating rose 2.1 percentage points to 45.4%, the People Power Party increased by 1.6 percentage points to 38.6%, and the Justice Party decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 3.9%.
The margin of error for this survey is ±2.5 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. The survey was conducted with 97% mobile and 3% landline respondents, with a response rate of 3.2%.
