Gyeonggi-do Provides Integrity Training for 'Special Appointment and Fixed-term' Employees in the Last Week of Every Month
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province conducted integrity education on the 26th to enhance the commitment to performing duties with integrity and practicing anti-corruption among special appointment and fixed-term public officials, who usually have fewer educational opportunities.
This education was carried out under the direction of Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon.
Earlier, in November last year at the heads of departments meeting, Governor Kim stated, "We need to strengthen ethics and anti-corruption education not only for general public officials but also for special appointment and fixed-term public officials."
The education consisted of ▲ fostering a desirable public service mindset and integrity awareness ▲ major misconduct cases and prevention measures ▲ explanation of laws related to public officials' integrity ▲ sexual harassment and sexual violence prevention education ▲ and guidance on other reporting systems.
The province expects this education to have a preventive effect against various illegal acts that may arise from ignorance at the early stages of appointment.
Choi Eun-soon, the provincial auditor, emphasized, "We will proactively create an environment of integrity by conducting initial integrity education for newly appointed special appointment and fixed-term public officials."
