Liquor Sales Up 105%, Wine Sales Up 61%
During the Lunar New Year holiday period, sales of alcoholic beverages such as whiskey, wine, and beer at convenience stores significantly increased.
According to Emart24 on the 25th, total alcohol sales from the 21st to the 24th rose by 1.6 times compared to the previous week. Whiskey sales surged by 105%, followed by wine (61%), beer (59%), traditional liquor (58%), and soju (52%).
Sales of bagged ice, often purchased with whiskey, increased by 67%, cheese, a popular wine snack, rose by 51%, and dried snacks, commonly paired with beer, grew by 48%.
