[Asia Economy Reporter Eunju Lee] Ahead of China's largest holiday, the Spring Festival (Chunje, 설), 32 people have died and 9 are missing due to incidents such as avalanches and factory explosions.
According to China's state-run Xinhua News Agency on the 20th, an avalanche occurred at 7:50 PM on the 17th in a tunnel in Linzhi City, Tibet Autonomous Region, resulting in 20 deaths. After the accident, 8 people lost contact and are reported missing.
At the time, the avalanche caused 3 meters of snow to accumulate in front of the tunnel, burying vehicles passing through, and some vehicles were reported to be trapped.
