View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 19th at midnight that 29,816 new COVID-19 cases were added, bringing the total to 29,927,958.
The number of new cases on this day decreased by 14,133 compared to a week earlier on the 12th (43,949 cases). This is the lowest figure in 13 weeks since October 20 of last year (25,375 cases) based on Wednesday's tally.
Among the new cases, 63 were imported from overseas, down by 17 from the previous day (80 cases).
The number of critically ill patients hospitalized was 465, a decrease of 25 from the previous day, maintaining the 400s for the second consecutive day.
There were 47 new COVID-19 related deaths. The cumulative death toll reached 33,104, with a fatality rate of 0.11%.
