Hwasun-gun to Conduct Intensive Inspection on Excessive Packaging of Lunar New Year Gifts Until the 27th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that it will conduct an intensive inspection of excessive packaging of Lunar New Year gifts until the 27th to reduce resource waste and the amount of garbage generated during the Lunar New Year holiday.
The main inspection targets are ▲ alcoholic beverages ▲ confectionery ▲ cosmetics ▲ miscellaneous goods (toys, belts, wallets, etc.) ▲ primary food products (composite products), etc.
The county plans to focus on inspecting the packaging materials of the target products, packaging space ratio, number of packaging layers, and the appropriateness of separation and disposal markings to induce proper separation and disposal of recyclable resources and improve recycling efficiency.
For products suspected of excessive packaging, a simple measurement will be conducted, and if it is judged to violate the standards, the manufacturing company of the product will be required to undergo an inspection by a specialized institution. If the final inspection confirms excessive packaging, a fine will be imposed.
