Gwangju Science Museum Celebrates 10th Anniversary, Here’s How It Will Change

The Gwangju Science Museum shared its development and operational achievements so far, and took time to establish key projects for the 10th anniversary and make a resolution for a new leap forward.
This year, it declared the vision "A Shining Decade of Progress, Enjoying the Science of the Future," and plans to showcase various new science culture events such as ▲ Color - Various Colors Special Exhibition (April to July) ▲ Play Science Special Exhibition (July to August) ▲ Automobile Special Exhibition (November to March 2024).
It plans to significantly enhance customer satisfaction through large-scale facility expansion.
Starting with the opening of the planetarium in January this year, renewed to offer various celestial contents in 4K-level clear resolution, it plans to introduce a ‘4D Simulator’ around October, utilizing an immersive simulator and high-definition 3D video system.
In particular, it is promoting the expansion of viewing facilities, including the upcoming opening of the ‘Artificial Intelligence Hall’ in April this year, which will showcase cutting-edge scientific technologies combining core technologies such as artificial intelligence and the metaverse that will transform our daily lives.
It will also take the lead in nurturing creative convergence talents through new science education programs.
Along with operating new theme-based education programs reflecting the latest trends and social issues, such as ▲ Robot Learning Center ▲ Space Learning Center ▲ Artificial Intelligence Lab, it plans to activate family participation science programs like science camps.
Deputy Director Jeon Tae-ho said, “I thank the staff who have done their best to achieve the results so far, including over 5 million visitors.”
