Taxi Driver Who Hit Pedestrian and Fled, Under Police Investigation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] A taxi driver hit a pedestrian in an alley and fled the scene.
According to the Gwangju Nambu Police Station on the 17th, at around 12:05 PM the previous day, a private taxi driven by Mr. A (70) struck pedestrian Mr. B (43) on a one-lane road in Wolsan-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and then fled.
Mr. B sustained minor injuries and received treatment at a nearby hospital.
Mr. A stated to the police that he was unaware he had hit a pedestrian while driving, and it is reported that Mr. B is claiming to be a victim of a hit-and-run accident.
Mr. A continued driving and caused another accident by hitting a parked vehicle about 20 meters away.

The police confirmed that Mr. A was neither driving under the influence nor without a license, and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident. He has not yet been formally charged.
