Five-Vehicle Collision Including Taxis Near Jamsil Sports Complex... 8 Injured
One Person Transferred to Hospital with Hand Fracture
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] At around 11:40 AM on the 11th, five vehicles collided at the Jamsil-dong Sports Complex Intersection in Songpa-gu, Seoul, injuring eight people.
According to the police and fire authorities, a taxi traveling toward Jamsil hit a sidewalk block and then struck the vehicle ahead, causing a chain collision.
As a result of the accident, seven people, including drivers and passengers in the four vehicles ahead, sustained bruises. One person was transported to the hospital with a fractured back of the hand.
The taxi driver reportedly claimed during the police investigation that the vehicle experienced sudden unintended acceleration.

A police official stated, "The taxi driver was not under the influence of alcohol," and added, "We plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident based on black box footage and other evidence."
