Homeplus Mega Food Market reflects rapidly changing consumer trends and customer demands by offering a variety of food products at affordable prices, enhancing customer shopping convenience through improved space and flow, and has received positive customer responses. Stores renewed as Homeplus Mega Food Markets have recorded higher sales growth rates compared to the previous year at each opening point. Among them, the flagship store, Gangseo Branch, shows about 80% sales growth. The number of visitors has also increased by about 75%.
Homeplus Yatap Branch, opened in 2008, is located in Bundang-gu, the second most populous general district in the country. It is adjacent to large apartment complexes, comprehensive sports facilities, and general hospitals, providing abundant floating population and hinterland demand. It is well accessible as it is connected to Yatap Station on the Suin-Bundang Line via an underground passage, and its sales scale is also high.
In line with the characteristics of the local commercial area, where many family customers visit by car, it has the largest parking lot among large marts in Bundang (about 2,200 parking spaces). The assortment of high-demand food products has also been strengthened. Unlike other large marts, the store entrance features 'Food To Go,' which includes deli products such as 'Dangdang Chicken,' the salad bar 'Fresh To Go,' and the premium bakery 'Mont Blancier' prominently.
In the already opened Mega Food Markets, the assortment of 'World Sauce,' which gathers over 6,500 popular sauces from more than 20 countries worldwide, and 'Dining Street,' which collects ambient, refrigerated, and frozen ready meals in one place, has been further expanded. Recently, a new 'Whiskey Library' corner was introduced, gathering whiskeys popular among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z). To commemorate this, four types including BBR Sherry Cask Scotch Malt Whiskey are being sold.
To celebrate the Yatap Branch renewal opening, popular whiskeys such as Balvenie 12 Years (700ml), Diageo Johnnie Walker Green (700ml), and Macallan 18 Years Double Cask (700ml) will be offered at reasonable prices.
The non-food category has been newly organized to combine products and experiential content such as 'Toy Adventure Land,' 'Kitchenware,' and 'Electronics Lounge,' allowing customers of all ages from children to adults to enjoy shopping. Anchor tenants reflecting customer preferences and trends, such as 'Daiso' and 'Polham,' have been newly introduced, and efforts have been made to reorganize to strengthen the competitiveness of the shopping mall.
