Hwasun-gun Opens Applications for Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance Support Program
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that it will accept applications for the ‘Farmer and Fisherman Public Interest Allowance Support Project’ from the 11th to February 14th to compensate for the public value of agriculture, fisheries, and rural areas.
The support targets are business owners who have registered agricultural and fishery management entities with an address in Jeollanam-do before January 1, 2022, and currently have an address in Hwasun County as of the application date. Duplicate benefits within one household are not allowed.
Additionally, those with ▲non-agricultural income of 37 million KRW or more ▲public officials and employees of public institutions ▲those who have fraudulently received subsidies such as direct payments ▲those registered at farm sheds as their address are excluded from the support target.
Applicants who are eligible should apply at the administrative welfare center of their local eup or myeon office.
Once confirmed as recipients, the allowance will be paid in ‘Hwasun Love Gift Certificates,’ a local currency usable only within Hwasun County.
The public interest allowance amount is 600,000 KRW per recipient annually, and payment is planned for April.

A county official stated, “By paying with Hwasun Love Gift Certificates, we can prevent capital outflow and help local self-employed businesses and small merchants, expecting to revitalize the local economy through a virtuous economic cycle within the region.” He added, “We expect that paying the farmer and fisherman public interest allowance will improve the quality of life for agricultural and fishery workers and realize sustainable agriculture and rural management.”
