Jinju City Council Awards Commendations to 60 Citizens for Volunteer Service in 2022

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 4th, the Jinju City Council in Gyeongnam held a commendation ceremony at the City Hall Citizen Hall for outstanding volunteer citizens in the second half of 2022, encouraging citizens who contributed to the development of legislation, the welfare of citizens, and the advancement of the local community.
At the ceremony, 60 volunteers from across Jinju City who demonstrated exemplary behavior through proactive attitudes, generous acts of kindness, and consideration were awarded commendations.
Chairman Yang Hae-young said, “I was deeply impressed by the dedication of the awardees who willingly devoted their precious time to work for the happiness of their neighbors,” adding, “In the new year of the Year of the Black Rabbit, I ask you to continue to be partners in the happiness of Jinju City and the development of legislation.”

Following the full revision and enforcement of the Local Autonomy Act in January last year, which strengthened the status of local councils, the City Council is promoting its own commendation awards. This year as well, to encourage active citizen volunteer activities, the council plans to directly discover and commend exemplary citizens in the first and second halves of the year.
