Gyeongsang National University-Brain Health Lab-Namhae Garlic Research Institute Technology Transfer and Industry-Academic Cooperation Agreement
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongsang National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Namhae Garlic Research Institute, and Brain Health Lab held a technology transfer and industry-academic cooperation agreement ceremony on the 3rd at the Technology Business Center meeting room of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation at Gyeongsang National University Gajwa Campus to secure new growth engines for the biohealth industry in the western Gyeongnam region.

Brain Health Lab is a joint venture-type subsidiary of Gyeongsang National University Technology Holding Company established in the Jinju Small and Strong Research and Development Special Zone, maximizing growth through technology transfer.
The main business areas involve discovering differentiated functional, eco-friendly, and bio materials through technology introduction related to material extraction and formulation development, and manufacturing and distributing various natural-derived health functional foods using green imaging (an image encompassing green, natural, and eco-friendly concepts).
Brain Health Lab signed a technology transfer agreement on November 7 last year to utilize technology developed by Professor Kim Hyun-jun of Gyeongsang National University College of Medicine and spinach materials from Namhae Garlic Research Institute for developing brain health-oriented general foods and individual recognition-type raw materials that help relieve stress and tension.
The brain health-oriented foods developed by Brain Health Lab are being developed in various forms such as jelly, bars, and snacks, and are expected to expand the market not only for the elderly but also for infants, adolescents, examinees, and office workers for whom brain health is important.
CEO Jeong of Brain Health Lab said, “With this technology transfer, Brain Health Lab has had the opportunity to exchange with Gyeongsang National University researchers and share new functional material development technologies,” adding, “We plan to develop differentiated high value-added products such as health functional foods using brain health-oriented materials currently being researched with Gyeongsang National University.”
Director Park of Namhae Garlic Research Institute said, “This technology transfer is not an end but another beginning. We will continue to support steady research, product development, and help companies grow and leap forward based on those products through collaboration with Gyeongsang National University, Brain Health Lab, and other companies.”
