View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Hugel announced on the 3rd that it conducted a "Love Briquette Sharing Event" for energy-vulnerable groups on the 30th of last month in Chuncheon-si, Gangwon, where its headquarters is located.
The Love Briquette Sharing Event is a social contribution activity that Hugel has been steadily carrying out since 2012. Marking its 11th year this year, about 180 employees from Hugel's Chuncheon Sinbuk and Geodu factories and the corporate-affiliated research institute participated. Notably, this event was held face-to-face for the first time in three years since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The employees personally delivered approximately 3,500 briquettes to 15 households near the Sinbuk factory, sharing warmth during the year-end season. Up to this year, Hugel has directly delivered 17,700 briquettes to 86 households and has also donated briquettes annually through the "Chuncheon Briquette Bank." The cumulative number of donated briquettes reaches 88,000.

A Hugel official stated, "We understand that the recent sharp increase in briquette prices has increased the heating cost burden for energy-vulnerable groups, so it is especially meaningful to be able to personally deliver briquettes for the first time since COVID-19. We hope this small help allows our neighbors to have a warm winter. Hugel's Love Briquette Sharing Event, now celebrating its 11th anniversary, will continue steadily in the future."
