Gwangju City Achieves Water Quality Improvement in Yeongsan River... Earns 'Best Institution' Title
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City was selected as the ‘Best’ institution in the Total Pollution Load Management project category in the 2021 fiscal year Yeongsan River and Seomjin River Basin Management Fund Project Performance Evaluation conducted by the Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office of the Ministry of Environment this year.
The Yeongsan River and Seomjin River Basin Management Fund Project Performance Evaluation assesses local governments supported by the basin management fund on an annual basis in areas such as plan establishment, budget execution, and project management for fund projects including the Total Pollution Load Management project.
In the performance evaluation conducted from June to November, Gwangju City ranked first among 22 local governments subject to the project in terms of project management status and total load compliance in the Total Pollution Load Management project category, receiving the ‘Best’ grade.
Gwangju City will receive incentives such as prize money and increased support for future project expenses.
