Busan Gijang-gun Confirms Promises for the 8th Elected Term
Estimated Implementation Budget of 2.1042 Trillion Won
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan Gijang-gun has finalized the mayoral campaign promises for the 8th term through approval by the Pledge Implementation Evaluation Group.
A total of 72 pledges across 18 sectors in 4 major areas have been confirmed, with an estimated budget of approximately 2.1042 trillion KRW required for implementation.
The county plans to finalize and thoroughly implement key detailed projects and action plans across four major areas: ▲Happy City for All ▲Convergent Future City ▲Sustainable Communication City ▲Well-Connected Transportation City.
First, in the Happy City for All sector, 31 detailed projects closely related to residents' lives are included, focusing on improving living environments. These include lifting development restriction zones and water source protection areas, attracting a 24-hour specialized children's hospital, establishing new high schools and specialized high schools, attracting the National Gijang Museum, installing a comprehensive stadium, conducting river improvement projects, and creating a public camping site exclusively for pets.
In the Convergent Future City sector, core projects responsible for securing Gijang's future growth engines and job creation are included in large numbers. These include early completion of the Radiation Medical and Science Convergence Cluster, creation of the Gijang-type Techno Valley, establishment of a Job Foundation, formation of a Smart Aquaculture Cluster, and development of medical-tourism linked stay-type resort facilities.
In the Sustainable Communication City sector, plans to ensure sustainable growth include communication enhancement policies such as forming a permanent consultative body among the National Assembly member, mayor, and city/county council members, establishing a county policy advisory committee, and projects focused on residents' safety such as expanding safety CCTV and security lighting, and establishing the Cheolma 119 Fire Center.
Lastly, in the Well-Connected Transportation City sector, projects mainly aimed at maximizing the geographical advantage of Gijang-gun, located at the center of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, are included. These include long-standing regional demands such as the urban railway Jeonggwan Line and Gijang Line, attracting the KTX Eum Station, opening the Bansong Tunnel, constructing bypass roads for Jeonggwan and Ilgwang New Towns, and promoting airport bus routes.
To finalize the pledge projects, the county conducted thorough internal reviews by each department and held 'Action Plan Reporting Meetings.' On the 22nd, the Pledge Implementation Evaluation Group meeting, composed of 15 Gijang residents, finalized the pledge projects and detailed action plans.
The finalized list of the 8th term mayoral pledge projects will be disclosed on the county website, and steady monitoring will be conducted through quarterly self-inspections, semi-annual progress reporting meetings, and annual evaluation meetings.
