Now in its fourth year, this contest is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, organized by the Hydrogen Convergence Alliance, and sponsored by Korea Gas Corporation, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, Korea Productivity Center, and Korea Energy Agency. It is a nationwide contest open to all citizens.
The contest aims to increase acceptance of hydrogen energy and the hydrogen economy by encouraging citizens to create various content based on their self-learned concepts of the hydrogen economy and the hydrogen ecosystem.
This year’s contest was held in five categories?policy proposals, design, webtoons, UCC (User Created Content), and photography?centered on themes such as the concept of the hydrogen economy, the state of the hydrogen ecosystem, eco-friendliness, and economic, industrial, and environmental ripple effects.
The student team of Sung Chang-wook, Lee Eun-soo, and Kim Su-heon, members of Pukyong National University’s securities investment club SIC (advised by Professor An Se-ryung), participated in the policy proposal category. They presented a Korea-specific clean hydrogen certification standard considering Korea’s industrial status and proposed a plan to foster a clean hydrogen ecosystem through tailored support measures for each hydrogen production method, receiving high praise.
