Professor Kim Heegyu of Silla University Appointed as the 34th President of the Korean Society of Teacher Education
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Professor Kim Hee-gyu of the Department of Education at Silla University was recently elected as the 34th president at the regular general meeting of the Korean Society for Teacher Education.
Professor Kim will serve as president for one year starting from January 2023, leading the society.
He currently holds positions such as Dean of the College of Education at Silla University, President of the National Association of Private Colleges of Education, President of the Korean Holistic Convergence Education Society, and Vice Chair of the Ministry of Education's Curriculum Operation Committee, actively engaging in teacher policy, curriculum, and university evaluation fields.
Professor Kim stated, “During my term, I will work to expand academic discourse on strengthening teachers' AI and digital competencies and strive to enhance the quality of teacher education to restore the essence of education.”
The Korean Society for Teacher Education is a nationwide academic organization established in 1968 by practitioners in the fields of early childhood, special, elementary, secondary, and higher education, along with theoretical experts from universities and research institutions.
