"Preventing Voice Phishing Damage in Advance with 'My Account Payment Suspension' Service"
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] On the 26th, the Financial Supervisory Service announced that it has developed the 'My Account Payment Suspension' service, which allows users to collectively request payment suspension for all accounts under their name at the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute.
The 'My Account Payment Suspension' service will be implemented starting from the 27th. Users can access the 'My Account Payment Suspension' menu through the Account Integration Management Service and the financial consumer portal 'Fine' and use the service after identity verification.
Users can collectively check the status of bank and secondary financial institution accounts opened under their name and select accounts suspected of being targeted by financial fraud such as voice phishing to immediately request payment suspension.
Once a collective payment suspension is requested, all withdrawal transactions including those at branches, non-face-to-face channels, automatic transfers, and open banking will be suspended.
Payment suspension cancellation is possible by visiting individual financial institution branches. Cancellation through the Account Integration Management Service is not available.
The Financial Supervisory Service stated, "This collective payment suspension service is expected to greatly help prevent financial fraud damage to consumers by enabling quick and simultaneous suspension of multiple accounts without the need to contact each financial institution individually, especially in cases of voice phishing and other concerns."
