US Bombers Deployed Near Korean Peninsula for Three Days During ROK-US Joint Exercises
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] It has been revealed that during the recent South Korea-US joint exercises, two US B-52H strategic bombers were deployed near the Korean Peninsula for three days.
On the 23rd (local time), the US Pacific Air Forces officially announced, "Two B-52Hs from Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana arrived at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam on the 18th and carried out bomber task force support missions in the Indo-Pacific Command operational area for three days until their return."
They added, "This mission demonstrated the enhanced extended deterrence capabilities of the US Air Force and Strategic Command in the Indo-Pacific region."
On the 20th, the South Korean Ministry of National Defense revealed that the US F-22 stealth fighter 'Raptor' and B-52 conducted South Korea-US joint air force exercises around the southwestern Jeju Island Korean Air Defense Identification Zone (KADIZ).
The Pacific Air Forces stated that the B-52H bombers were "integrated with allied forces in the area" alongside these fighters, transport aircraft, and KC-46 aerial refueling tankers, indicating that South Korea and the US conducted joint exercises.

They further explained, "These B-52 bombers signify that the US can deploy nuclear-capable bombers worldwide to provide extended deterrence options against attacks in the region," adding, "This mission demonstrated the US commitment to regional security and stability to its allies."
