Goseong-gun to Provide 250,000 KRW per Person as COVID-19 Mutual Support Fund
Military Council Budget Passed... Expectation for Revitalization of Local Businesses and Regional Economy
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] As 12.5 billion KRW for the COVID-19 coexistence support fund was reflected in the initial 2023 budget for residents of Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam, a second round of 250,000 KRW per person is expected to be paid to all residents.
In the prolonged complex economic crisis caused by COVID-19, high interest rates, and high inflation, the executive branch and the county council communicated and cooperated to prepare the budget for the second round of support funds, prioritizing the stabilization of residents' livelihoods who are experiencing difficulties.
With the support fund budget passing the plenary session, the county plans to expedite the payment before the Lunar New Year holiday next year to serve as a catalyst for the recovery of the local economy.
The payment amount is 250,000 KRW per person, paid entirely in 10,000 KRW Goseong Love Gift Certificates, and applications can be submitted at any eup/myeon office within Goseong-gun from January 9 to February 3 next year.
With the second round of support funds to help residents financially ahead of the Lunar New Year peak season, consumer sentiment, which has been subdued, is expected to revive.
