View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) has implemented a new executive personnel reshuffle focused on professional competencies to mark the third year of Chairman Koo Ja-yeol's tenure. Kim Go-hyun, head of KITA's Management Support Headquarters, was promoted to Executive Director, and Lee Myung-ja, the newly appointed Deputy Managing Director, became the first female executive in KITA's history.
KITA announced on the 21st that it will carry out a new year executive reshuffle effective January 1 next year. As next year marks the 60th anniversary of Trade Day and is considered a pivotal year for seeking the future of Korean trade, KITA explained that the reshuffle was conducted with a focus on professional talent.
In this reshuffle, KITA promoted Kim Go-hyun, head of the Management Support Headquarters (Managing Director), to Executive Director. Since joining KITA in 1991, Kim has served in various roles including researcher, trade promotion, and member services headquarters, as well as Public Relations Director, Ho Chi Minh branch manager, and Secretary General of the Trade Academy. KITA stated that Kim possesses stable management capabilities due to his comprehensive understanding of the association's overall business and experience in diverse fields such as planning, human resources, and public relations.
KITA also newly appointed Lee Myung-ja and Kim Ki-hyun as Deputy Managing Directors. Lee Myung-ja is KITA's first female executive. She joined KITA in 1986 as a non-regular employee at the Daejeon branch and has accumulated field experience in the academy and exhibition marketing. She was also the first to be appointed as the Asset Management Director, overseeing the management of KITA Trade Center assets, as a newly appointed director. Kim Ki-hyun joined KITA in 1992 and has gained experience in IT and exhibition convention business areas, serving as Secretary General, Dubai branch manager, and head of the International Cooperation Office.
Kim Hyun-chul, head of the Global Cooperation Headquarters (Managing Director), was appointed as the Standing Auditor. Since joining the association in 1990, Kim has worked in eTrade, the Audit Office, and has held positions such as New York branch manager, head of the e-BIZ Strategy Office, and head of the Global Cooperation Headquarters (Managing Director).
