Jangseong-gun Holds 'Major Work Plan Report Meeting'... Discusses 319 Key Projects

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do held the ‘2023 Major Military Administration Work Plan Report Meeting’ on the 20th and conducted departmental reports and discussions on major projects for next year.

According to the county on the 21st, the major projects discussed this time include a total of 319 cases: 48 pledges, 63 key issues, 52 new issues, and 156 general issues.

The county will focus on promoting national new growth industries starting next year.

They plan to promote the attraction and establishment of the ‘Future Advanced Semiconductor Specialized Complex’ jointly promoted with Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeollanam-do, the stable establishment of the ‘National Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Research Institute,’ and accelerate the construction of the National Subtropical Crop Demonstration Center in Sangdo-ri, Samgye-myeon.

They will also focus on securing growth engines for continuous future development. ▲ Construction of the Samsuh~Gwangju boundary connecting road ▲ Improvement of local roads between Hwangryong and Imgok in Gwangju, expanding SOC (Social Overhead Capital) projects, ▲ New development of the hinterland local industrial complex of Bitgreen Industrial Complex ▲ Creation of rural living infrastructure ▲ Thorough preparation for the creation of Deokseong Happy Village in Nam-myeon.

They will put all efforts into developing tourism resources to open the ‘10 million Jangseong Tourism Era.’ ▲ Creation of five major food streets ▲ Creation of pine tree street forest from Hwangryong River to Pilam Seowon ▲ Development of the upper stream waterfront area of Jangseongho Lake ▲ Creation of leisure parks around Suyangje, building premium tourism content to cultivate Jangseong’s unique charm where culture and history breathe.

They will also strive to establish a welfare foundation where all residents can be happy. ▲ Construction of day care facilities and vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled ▲ Construction of family centers ▲ Customized education for multicultural families ▲ Housing environment improvement projects for the housing vulnerable ▲ Senior job projects and other customized welfare projects will be promoted.

The Jangseong Love Gift Certificate, which serves as a catalyst for revitalizing the local economy, will be increased and issued at a scale of 35 billion won. They also plan to accelerate projects such as store management improvement and store rent support for small business owners, and modernization of Hwangryong Traditional Market facilities.

Along with fostering a new income subtropical crop lemon cultivation complex, they will strengthen agricultural competitiveness through ▲ Establishment of a foreign worker manpower pool ▲ Support for young farmers in their 20s to 40s ▲ Solid operation of the Gwangju area Jangseong local food direct sales store ▲ Construction of a public meal support center.

County Governor Kim Han-jong said, “2023 is a time for a great leap forward for Jangseong’s future development,” and added, “We will do our best to fulfill the wishes of the residents and definitely create a happy Jangseong where the residents are the owners.”

Meanwhile, after supplementing the matters discussed at this report meeting, the county plans to share the ‘2023 Major Military Administration Work Plan’ materials through the official website in January next year.
