This volunteer activity was carried out as a year-end and New Year social contribution activity involving employees, along with 'Love Packages' delivering groceries to elderly people living alone, and 'U+ Hope Santa' giving Christmas presents to children in orphanages.
About 20 LG Uplus employees, including Jung Soo-heon, Vice President and Head of the Consumer Division, visited 'Samdong Boy Village' located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and carried out volunteer work to improve the living environment for the children. Samdong Boy Village is a child welfare facility that has served as a shelter for children suffering from family breakdown since 1952, during the Korean War.
Although murals were already painted in various indoor areas of Samdong Boy Village, over time the colors had faded and the paintings were damaged, showing signs of aging. LG Uplus employees repainted the 32-meter-long corridor adjacent to the dining hall with new artwork. The employees painted daisy flowers on green grass and depicted bees drinking nectar from the flowers to convey psychological stability. In the center of the mural, the phrase "Walk only on flower paths from now on" was inserted to deliver a message of hope to the children.
