View original image[Mokpo=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] Mokpo City in Jeollanam-do was selected as an ‘Excellent’ local government in the ‘City/County Anti-Corruption Policy Evaluation’ hosted by Jeollanam-do.
The ‘City/County Anti-Corruption Policy Evaluation’ is a system designed to spread the value of pursuing anti-corruption in local communities and to promote simultaneous improvement in integrity. It evaluates 14 indicators across three categories, including anti-corruption policies and efforts implemented by each local government during the year 2022.
This year, the city promoted six integrity policies across four major areas to improve anti-corruption and integrity, including ▲establishment and operation of integrity policy task forces and integrity officers by department ▲conducting surveys of public officials ▲having all employees sign integrity pledges ▲implementing special integrity education ▲carrying out integrity campaigns ▲sending integrity text messages and postcards ▲and promoting integrity notification messages.
In particular, the Mokpo Mayor, senior officials at grade 4 and above, and heads of investment and contribution institutions took the lead in ‘Corruption zero & clean Mokpo’ through integrity pledges and declarations.
A city official stated, “We will continue to do our best to create a trustworthy and integrity-driven Mokpo for citizens by promoting substantial anti-corruption systems.”

The city plans to steadily implement comprehensive anti-corruption and integrity policies such as activating the citizen auditor system, operating visiting integrity consulting, conducting civil complaint satisfaction surveys, carrying out citizen campaigns, and supporting proactive administration to foster a clean and honest public service culture.
