Gyeongsang National University 2023 Academic Year Regular Admission for New Students
Online Registration from the 29th to 7 PM on January 2nd Next Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongsang National University will accept online applications for the 2023 academic year regular admission from the 29th of this month until 7 PM on January 2, 2023, through the university website. Documents must be submitted by 6 PM on January 3 after the application submission.
According to the Gyeongsang National University Admissions Office, the regular admission is primarily based on the CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test), selecting 797 students in total: 297 in Group A and 500 in Group B. The number of students may change depending on the early admission registration results, so applicants should check the university website for updates.
Also, since all 17 colleges are divided into Groups A, B, and C for recruitment, applicants must check the relevant recruitment group before submitting their applications.
This year’s major changes include selecting 6 out of 21 nursing department regular admission spots through the regional talent selection for the first time, and the recruitment groups for the Departments of Mathematics, Clothing and Textiles, Chemistry, Future Automotive Engineering, and Design Business are changing from Group A to Group B.
The regular admission is divided into general admission, regional talent selection, rural student selection, specialized high school graduate selection, basic livelihood security recipient selection, lifelong learning selection, and employed person selection.
The general admission selects candidates based on 100% CSAT scores. The Departments of Folk Dance, Fine Arts, Music, and Physical Education reflect practical skill scores, while the Departments of Industrial Management and Future Industry Convergence require submission of academic plans and evaluate documents at 100%.
Additionally, the Department of Human Healthcare and the Department of Environmental and Forest Sciences (Forest Convergence Major, evening program) select candidates based on 100% school records.
Applicants for admissions other than the general admission must verify their eligibility before applying. The regional talent selection is open only to those who took the 2023 CSAT and completed their entire high school education from entrance to graduation at high schools located in the Gyeongnam, Busan, or Ulsan regions, including graduates and prospective graduates.
The lifelong learning selection is for those aged 30 or older as of March 1, 2023, recruiting for the Departments of Industrial Management and Future Industry Convergence.
Special admissions outside the quota, such as rural student selection, specialized high school graduate selection, employed person selection, and basic livelihood security recipient selection, require applicants to check eligibility on the website.
The CSAT score reflection method uses standard scores, and for English, Gyeongsang National University’s own conversion score table based on absolute evaluation is applied. The CSAT subjects considered vary by academic division and recruitment group, so applicants should verify on the website.
For natural sciences division recruitment groups, a 5% bonus is given to applicants who took two subjects in Science Exploration I, and a 10% bonus to those who took two subjects in Science Exploration I and II or Science Exploration II. For the Departments of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Pharmacy, a 10% bonus is given to those who took Calculus or Geometry. Bonus points are recognized even if they exceed the weighted score or total admission score.
