Yeongyang County Office Reacquires Family-Friendly Certification from Ministry of Gender Equality and Family ... Recognized for Efforts to Foster Family-Friendly Workplace Culture
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, has been re-certified as a ‘Family-Friendly Certified Institution’ designated by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
Since being newly selected as a family-friendly certified institution in 2017, Yeongyang-gun passed the re-certification review this year following the extension of the validity period in 2020. Through this re-certification, the county will maintain its status as an excellent family-friendly institution until November 2025.
Family-friendly certification is a system administered by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family that grants certification through an evaluation by a family-friendly certification review agency to companies and public institutions that exemplary operate family-friendly systems. Its purpose is to promote the creation of a family-friendly social environment that enables workers to harmoniously balance family life and work life.
The county operates various family-friendly systems such as reduced working hours during pregnancy and childcare periods, Family Love Day, special leave for long-term service, parental leave for female and male workers, spouse childbirth leave, and flexible working hours, striving to foster a workplace culture that supports the balance of work and family.
