Running Unopposed, Elected Without a Vote
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The election for the 2nd President of the Jeonnam Gwangyang City Sports Council began with the election announcement on April 6, and as a result of candidate registration at the Gwangyang City Election Commission from April 11 to 12 (two days), only one candidate, former Senior Vice President of the Sports Council Kim Yong-seo, registered.
This 2nd local sports council president election was held simultaneously nationwide, with the Gwangyang City Sports Council entrusting the election management to the Gwangyang City Election Commission.
So far, the Election Commission has handled the allocation of voters, establishment (composition) of the Election Commission, determination and confirmation of the number of voters, and random selection of voters. Following the candidate registration application, registration closed on December 12, resulting in only former Senior Vice President Kim Yong-seo registering as a candidate.
When there is only one candidate, the election is decided without a vote, and after candidate verification, the election result will be confirmed. On the election day, the 22nd, the Gwangyang City Election Commission will issue the certificate of election.
Kim Yong-seo, who registered as a candidate for the Gwangyang City Sports Council President, has contributed to the development of sports in Gwangyang City while serving as CEO of Ire Enterprise Co., Ltd. and Logisgate Co., Ltd., former Senior Vice President of the Gwangyang City Sports Council, as well as director and auditor.
Former Senior Vice President Kim Yong-seo said in his greeting, “I will establish an organic cooperation system centered on the Sports Council with heads of various sports organizations and township/district sports council presidents, actively support and communicate to revitalize the sports organizations by listening to their difficulties.”
