Minister Jeong Hwang-geun Attends National Agricultural Museum Opening Ceremony... Awards for Meritorious Contributors
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Kim Hyewon] Jeong Hwang-geun, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, attended the opening ceremony of the 'National Agricultural Museum' held on the 15th at 154 Suin-ro, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon-si (part of the former Rural Development Administration site), where he awarded contributors to the establishment and encouraged event participants.
The National Agricultural Museum exhibits agricultural artifacts centered around nine key themes?land and water, seeds, cultivation, harvesting, storage and processing, transportation and distribution, and future agriculture?to help the public easily understand the history and potential of agriculture. Experiential and educational spaces such as a children's museum, botanical garden, food culture hall, and outdoor experience zones have also been created.
From the 16th to the 18th, various opening commemorative events will be held, including academic symposiums, a character naming contest, a farmers' market, humanities lectures, pet snack-making experiences, and cooking classes.

In his commemorative speech, Minister Jeong said, "It is very meaningful that the National Agricultural Museum opens at a symbolic place representing the history of Korean agriculture," adding, "The government will promote agricultural and rural policies that the public can feel directly, ensuring that the importance of agriculture and rural areas is fully recognized. We will also develop the National Agricultural Museum into the world's best agricultural museum, enjoyed not only by our citizens but also by foreigners."
