Yeonggwang-gun Receives 'Excellence Award' for Job Creation Evaluation

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kang Jongman) announced on the 15th that it received the 'Excellence Award' in the job creation outstanding city/county evaluation at the '2022 Job Fair' held at the Wangin Room of Jeollanam-do on the 13th.

The event was organized to award certificates to excellent employment companies that increased good jobs for the region, and to express gratitude and celebrate the efforts and awards of cities/counties and contributors who have worked hard in job creation, regional economy, investment attraction, and related institutions throughout the year.

The 2022 Jeollanam-do job creation outstanding city/county evaluation was conducted by comprehensively assessing 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do based on employment indicators, budget increase and execution rate, youth jobs, middle-aged jobs, vulnerable group jobs, and other project performances.

The county established the Yeonggwang Technical High School e-Mobility Department through industry-academia-government cooperation to nurture e-mobility specialized talents and guaranteed employment within the region. Additionally, to create differentiated jobs from other regions, it established the nation's first Youth Development Fund.

It also promoted youth vitality projects such as the Youth Hope Stepping Stone Account and youth start-up support, and received favorable reviews for implementing leading job policies responding to youth outflow through initiatives like Youth Village and Yeonggwang-type Youth Job Incentive Support.

Governor Kang Jongman said, "I am very pleased to receive the 'Excellence Award' in the 2022 national local government job evaluation following the Jeollanam-do job creation evaluation. We will generously support job policy promotion so that there is no worry about jobs and housing when coming to Yeonggwang."
