Kakao Pay 'Asset Management' Expands Service Areas to Real Estate and Virtual Assets
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunju Lee] Kakao Pay announced on the 15th that it will expand the 'Asset Management' service area to include real estate and virtual assets so that users can more systematically view various asset details.
Kakao Pay users can register the apartments or officetels they live in to check real transaction prices of real estate. Additionally, users can now check price information from domestic virtual asset exchanges in Kakao Pay's 'Asset Management,' and if they link their ID, they can also see the current value of their invested virtual assets.
Kakao Pay users can enter information about the real estate they reside in and check its current value in 'Asset Management.' They can register by selecting 'Manage My Home' under the 'Asset Management' section in the 'All' tab of the KakaoTalk or Kakao Pay app. Apartments or officetels that users own or currently rent under monthly rent or lease agreements are eligible for registration.
By entering the address of the residence, selecting the exclusive area of the residence, and inputting ownership type, purchase time, and price, users can register their real estate assets. Once registration is complete, users can check the real transaction prices and price fluctuation graphs of the real estate, as well as the rate of return based on purchase time and price changes. The service will be enhanced in the future to allow registration of detached houses and multi-family houses.
Information from virtual asset exchanges will also be accessible through Kakao Pay's 'Asset Management.' This feature was created to improve user experience by enhancing the completeness of asset management, allowing users to view virtual assets in one place. While services that allow users to view virtual assets scattered across different exchanges have emerged, Kakao Pay's 'Asset Management' is the first to provide a more complete service through partnerships with four domestic exchanges.
Users can access this by entering 'Virtual Assets' under the 'Asset Management' section in the 'All' tab of the KakaoTalk or Kakao Pay app. First, users can check virtual asset prices from four domestic virtual asset exchanges (Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, Gopax), and sort them by price increase rate, decrease rate, or trading volume. It is also possible to set favorite virtual assets to monitor their price information separately.

Kakao Pay stated, "As real estate and virtual assets have become important parts of Kakao Pay users' asset portfolios, the need for a function to clearly understand these assets has increased, leading to the expansion of the service area. This service expansion was planned to enable users to manage their asset portfolios more rationally and comprehensively, and we will continue to upgrade the service by providing high-quality information."
