Teacher Accused of Sexual Harassment of Student at Eunpyeong-gu High School... Police Investigation Underway
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A complaint has been filed alleging that a high school teacher in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul sexually harassed students, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
On the 15th, the Eunpyeong Police Station in Seoul announced that they have received a complaint requesting punishment of teacher A, in his 50s, on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles Against Sexual Abuse, and are currently investigating.
A is accused of sexually harassing student B, a second-year student, twice in March at a high school in Eunpyeong-gu where he worked.
When B expressed discomfort, A allegedly attempted secondary harm by persuading or threatening him, saying he could help him get into university.
The police have completed the investigation of the victim's side and plan to summon A for questioning soon. A has been suspended from his position.
