Cheongsong Juwangsan and Jusangji Selected Again for Korea's Top 100 Tourist Attractions
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwi-yeol] Juwangsan and Jusanjji, representative tourist attractions of Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, and UNESCO Global Geopark geological sites, have been reselected for the 2023-2024 Korea Tourism 100, following their inclusion in 2019-2020.
The Korea Tourism 100 is a project promoted every two years by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to select and promote Korea's representative tourist destinations that both domestic and foreign visitors must visit.
The 100 selections are made through analysis of big data from mobile carriers, navigation systems, SNS, and expert evaluations.
Juwangsan, designated as Korea's 12th national park in 1976, is the most famous mountain in Gyeongbuk. Its appearance resembles a folding screen made of stone, which is why it was formerly called Seokbyeongsan (石屛山). It is famous for Juwang Valley, Scenic Site No. 11, ideal for walking, and Jusanjji, Scenic Site No. 105.
