Gwangju University Successfully Holds Cultural Arts Creative Liberal Arts Course Performance Presentation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) announced on the 15th that it recently successfully completed the ‘2022 Academic Year 2nd Semester Culture and Arts Creative Liberal Arts Course Performance Presentation.’
Since the 2nd semester of 2017, Gwangju University Liberal Arts Education Center has been operating culture and arts creative liberal arts courses utilizing culture and arts with the goal of nurturing creative talents needed in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, holding performance presentations once every semester.
This performance presentation, conducted as part of the University Innovation Support Project, was organized as a time to share creative works of students from the courses ▲Design Connecting Relationships ▲Gestures Awakening Myself ▲Rediscovery of Chorus ▲Theater Reading Life.
Participating students showcased their vibrant talents and capabilities through eight performances including Climate Crisis (Design), Mother to Daughter (Music), Year-end Trip (Dance), and Heungbuga is Amazing (Theater).
Kim Jeonga, head of Gwangju University Liberal Arts Education Center, said, “Students had time to communicate and collaborate with peers through creative activities in dance, theater, music, and design fields over one semester,” adding, “During the preparation process for the presentation, they had the opportunity to coordinate their own thoughts and others’ opinions, understanding and grasping the relationship between the individual and the whole.”

She also added, “I hope that more students can develop empathy for others and multidimensional thinking skills through art appreciation and experiential activities.”
