Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Launches 'Love Temperature Tower' Sharing Campaign

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) participated on the 5th in the unveiling ceremony of the ‘Love Thermometer’ in the eastern region of Jeonnam, co-hosted with the Community Chest of Korea and Yeosu City, contributing 25 million KRW to the warmth of love.

The Love Thermometer, part of the ‘Hope 2023 Sharing Campaign,’ aims to raise 9.9 billion KRW. For every 1% of the target amount raised, the temperature on the Love Thermometer rises by 1℃. The collected donations are used to support social welfare facilities such as rehabilitation centers for the severely disabled, elderly care facilities, shelters for migrant women, and low-income households.

At the donation ceremony, President Park Seong-hyun delivered the warmth of love to mark the start of fundraising. Congratulatory speeches were given by Jeong Gi-myeong, Mayor of Yeosu, Kim Young-gyu, Chairman of Yeosu City Council, and Roh Dong-il, Chairman of the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea, followed by a performance to raise the Love Thermometer’s temperature.

The Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea’s Love Thermometer is installed at the Jeonnam Provincial Government Plaza and Yeosu City Hall rotary, and will display the accumulated warmth of sharing until January 31 of next year.

Participation in the sharing campaign can be registered at the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea and local resident centers in cities, counties, and towns.

President Park Seong-hyun said, “Despite the cold weather and difficult economic situation, I am glad to be able to practice warm neighborly love,” adding, “We will continue to engage in volunteering and sharing for the local community.”
