Appointment of Lee Sung-mi as New CEO of Travel Rule Joint Venture Code
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Travel Rule joint venture CODE, established by domestic virtual asset exchanges Bithumb, Coinone, and Korbit, announced on the 5th that it has appointed Director Lee Sung-mi as the new CEO.
CEO Lee previously served as the inaugural head of Bithumb's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Center and compliance officer, and later as the head of the Business Cooperation Office.

A CODE official stated, "We have appointed a capable new CEO to grow into a regtech company that can professionally provide regulatory management services required by Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs), including the Travel Rule," adding, "With CEO Lee's extensive experience in the virtual asset industry, we expect CODE, the only Travel Rule solution in Korea, to grow into a global company beyond Korea."
