Ulsan Ulju-gun Completes Pedestrian Environment Improvement at Namchang 1 and 2 Bridges
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulju-gun, Ulsan City has completed the improvement of the pedestrian environment on Namchang 1 and 2 Bridges crossing Namchangcheon in Onyang-eup.
Previously, Namchang 1 Bridge was the main commuting route for students of Onyang Elementary School, but there was no sidewalk, forcing pedestrians to pass under Namchangcheon, causing significant inconvenience.
Namchang 2 Bridge is the main commuting route for Namchang High School students and experiences heavy traffic from visitors to Namchang Ticket Office and Namchang Market, but the lanes and sidewalks were narrow and deteriorated, necessitating improvements.
Accordingly, Ulju-gun invested a total project cost of 771 million KRW to carry out pedestrian environment improvement construction on Namchang 1 and 2 Bridges starting from August, completing the work at the end of last month.
With this construction, a sidewalk deck was added to Namchang 1 Bridge, creating conditions for safe use by bridge users including Onyang Elementary School students.
Namchang 2 Bridge also had a sidewalk deck added, increasing the sidewalk width from 1.2m to 2m, and the lane width was expanded from 3m to a maximum of 3.5m, resolving difficulties for large vehicles such as city buses to enter.
