Gyeonggi-do to Support New LPG School Vehicle Purchases Next Year... 649 Vehicles, 4.5 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is set to support the purchase of new LPG school commuting vehicles.
On the 28th, Gyeonggi Province announced plans to spend 4.5 billion KRW next year to replace 649 children's school commuting vehicles in the province with LPG vehicles.
Since 2018, the province has been providing subsidies for switching to LPG vehicles, which emit less fine dust, to protect children's health and reduce fine dust. From 2018, 2,276 children's school commuting vehicles have been converted to LPG vehicles.
The province will provide 7 million KRW per vehicle to owners of existing diesel school commuting vehicles who scrap their diesel cars and purchase new LPG vehicles with 9 to 15 seats, such as the Staria Kinder. However, if the diesel vehicle is not scrapped and a new LPG vehicle is purchased, the purchase must be made by December 31 of the current year to be eligible for support.
Additionally, if owners of diesel vehicles rated as emission grade 5 scrap their vehicles early, they can receive up to 3 million KRW in overlapping support according to the low-emission vehicle support standards.
Applications for subsidy support can be made to the city or county where the children's vehicle registration report (planned) is filed.
