Park Yonghwa, Gwangju Nam-gu Council Member, "Urgent Need to Install Public Restrooms Along Gwangju Stream"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Park Yong-hwa, a member of the Gwangju Nam-gu Council, proposed on the 25th that the installation of public restrooms along the riverside walking trail is urgent.
At the first plenary session of the 2nd regular meeting of the 290th session, Councilor Park pointed out, "Many residents living near the Gwangju riverside walking trail, from Sajik-dong Jungangdaegyo Bridge to Bangnim-dong Seolwolgyo Bridge, use the trail, but except for the two public restrooms installed by Dong-gu near Jungangdaegyo Bridge and Yongsan Sports Park, there are no restrooms available for residents using the Nam-gu side walking trail."
He especially noted, "Elderly citizens who have difficulty controlling physiological needs face even greater challenges when using the riverside walking trail," and added, "Concerns about the loss of public restrooms during the summer monsoon season can be resolved by using buoyancy or design adjustments, similar to the facilities in Seoul's Hangang Park."
