Gwangju University Social Welfare Meal Management Support Center Conducts Hygiene Education for Residents
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Nam-gu Social Welfare Meal Management Support Center, operated by Gwangju University, announced on the 25th that it conducted hygiene education for elderly and disabled residents admitted to local welfare facilities over a two-month period starting in September.
The education, held under the theme "Proper Handwashing to Protect Health," provided guidance on preventing infectious diseases and seasonal food poisoning, and was designed to help participants practice proper handwashing.
In particular, various experiential programs such as making lucky pouch soaps using soap clay were operated, receiving positive responses.
One resident who participated in the hygiene education said, "I think I will be able to wash my hands frequently with the soap I made myself," and added, "I will definitely practice the proper handwashing methods taught through the education."
Center Director Seo Dongju stated, "Although it is difficult to conduct face-to-face education due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we will strive to improve the nutrition and hygiene aspects of the residents."
