The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family collected excellent cases from public institutions nationwide until September 8, including Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's "Customized Gender Sensitivity Enhancement Workshop," and selected 912 institutions after the first round of evaluation.
Subsequently, after on-site evaluations and a second round of assessments including excellent cases in October, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education was finally selected as an outstanding institution on November 3.
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education was recognized for the excellence of various violence prevention policies it has implemented and was the only metropolitan and provincial office of education to receive the ministerial commendation.
The office operates various gender sensitivity improvement training programs such as ▲ training for principals, vice principals, and administrative directors ▲ production and distribution of English video educational materials for native speakers ▲ culture and arts-based gender sensitivity programs including music, art, film, and novels ▲ and gender sensitivity enhancement gatherings and workshops.
In addition, it has regularly conducted discussions and debates on analysis of sexual harassment and sexual violence cases, response methods, and prevention of secondary harm, striving to improve organizational culture to prevent sexual harassment and sexual violence and support victims' daily recovery.
