The project to establish the Vietnam Occupational Safety and Health Training Center, promoted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency to prevent industrial accidents among Vietnamese workers, has borne fruit in the form of official development assistance after three years.
The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency announced that on the 24th at 11 a.m. Korean time, the Safety and Health Training Center was inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
About 100 people attended the opening ceremony, including Ahn Jong-joo, Chairman of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, the Vice Minister of the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Development Cooperation Support Team of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, officials from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, and business leaders from Ho Chi Minh City.
The Ho Chi Minh Safety and Health Training Center is an industrial safety and health education institution equipped with the latest practical and experiential training facilities and equipment.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Vietnam Occupational Safety and Health Institute jointly promoted the project with a total budget of 3 billion KRW. South Korea supports the installation of construction safety experience training grounds, industrial safety and health practical equipment, lecture materials, curriculum and textbook development, and training of local instructors.
Vietnam provided the land and buildings for installing experiential training facilities and equipment.
The center has a total floor area of 5,000㎡, equipped with 11 construction safety experience facilities and 78 types of experimental and practical equipment, and will be responsible for training Vietnamese industrial safety and health experts.
