The event is one of BPA's port-specialized contribution projects and educational donation programs, designed to provide people with physical disabilities in the Gyeongnam region, who usually have difficulty accessing the port, with an opportunity to directly observe the port site and enhance their understanding of the port industry.
Thirty people with disabilities belonging to the Gyeongsangnam-do Physical Disability Association visited BPA headquarters, received explanations about Busan Port and ESG management activities, and toured the ▲Bukhang Redevelopment Project site ▲Coastal and International Passenger Terminals ▲Container Wharf by riding the port guide boat. After the tour, they also had time to communicate with BPA President Kang Jun-seok.
Since 2020, BPA has been leading efforts to provide quality jobs for people with disabilities through ESG management by hiring 4 to 5 employees annually who possess professional skills such as barista certification.
In recognition of these efforts, BPA was selected last month as an ‘Excellent Employer for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities in 2022’ designated by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
