[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced on the 21st that it recently donated 20 million KRW to Good People International after completing the 'Hope Walk Campaign Season 2' to help children with rare diseases.
In June, Daewoong Pharmaceutical held the Hope Walk Campaign for the first time, gathering the steps of its employees to donate in order to support children and families struggling with rare diseases. With enthusiastic participation from employees, Season 1 concluded with a donation of 20 million KRW for the treatment of children with rare diseases.
In the Season 2 campaign held last month, 275 employees from Daewoong Pharmaceutical, including the headquarters, research centers, factories, and nationwide sales offices of Daewoong Group, voluntarily participated. The campaign measured 1 KRW for every 2 steps taken by participating employees, aiming for a total of 40 million steps over one month, but they exceeded the goal by recording 55.8 million steps.
Good People plans to select recipients for the sponsorship funds based on objective indicators such as income, medical conditions, psychological and social circumstances, and support effectiveness among patients under 19 years old suffering from rare diseases.
