Gwangju Buk-gu Holds Workshop for Youth Safety Network Related Agency Workers
Report on Local Government Youth Safety Net Pilot Project Achievements, Capacity Building Training, and Healing Program Implementation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yuk-bong] On the 18th, Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 17th that it will hold a workshop for workers of youth safety net related organizations at the second floor Eoullim Auditorium of Buk-gu Happiness Eoullim Center.
This event was prepared to activate the network of youth safety net related organizations and provide customized welfare services for at-risk youth by improving the job skills of workers.
The workshop, attended by about 30 people including members of the Youth Welfare Working Committee and workers of youth facilities such as youth shelters and child protection facilities, will be held with the 2022 youth safety net leading project performance report, capacity building education, and healing programs.
First, through the performance report, various welfare projects for at-risk youth such as flute and clarinet classes, science camps, and baseball academies will be introduced and shared.
Next, Jeon Mi-jin, a chief counselor at the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Institute, will conduct capacity building education for workers under the theme of "Current Status of Youth Safety Net and the Role of the Local Community," and a healing program will also be held to comfort the hearts of workers tired from frontline social welfare work.
Director Moon In said, “We will build a more dense and robust youth safety net through close public-private cooperation,” and “We ask for much interest and cooperation so that not a single youth is left out.”
Meanwhile, Buk-gu was the only district in Gwangju City selected last year as an institution to lead the youth safety net project, building an integrated support network for at-risk youth with related organizations and groups and providing various customized services.
