[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The U.S.-South Korea deputy representatives for North Korea nuclear issues held a lunch meeting in Seoul on the 16th to discuss cooperation measures regarding North Korea.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lee Tae-woo, head of the North Korea nuclear diplomacy planning team, met with Chung Park, U.S. Deputy Special Representative for North Korea, who is visiting South Korea that day.
Both sides agreed to maintain a strong U.S.-South Korea combined defense posture while thoroughly preparing for any possible additional provocations by North Korea.
They also agreed to continue strengthening close communication and cooperation so that the international community can respond firmly and unitedly.
Furthermore, they evaluated that communication between the two countries regarding North Korea nuclear and related issues has been closely maintained through the U.S.-South Korea summit held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the 13th.
