According to the Mokpo Coast Guard on the 16th, at around 10:12 a.m. that day, a report was received that crew member B (male, in his 30s) of coastal trap fishing vessel A (9.77 tons, 8 crew members) had his finger caught and amputated by a fishing line while fishing 4.6 km south of Dokgeo Island, Jindo-gun.
Upon receiving the report, the Coast Guard immediately dispatched a coastal rescue boat from the local police station to stop the bleeding and provide first aid to B’s injured finger at sea, then transported him to Seomang Port in Jindo-gun, where he was handed over to the 119 emergency medical team.
B, who was transported to land by the Coast Guard, was moved to a large hospital in Gwangju and is currently receiving treatment; it is reported that his life is not in danger.
