"Muscle Loss-Free Diet" CU Launches High-Protein Low-Calorie Konjac Rice
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] CU announced on the 16th that it will launch two types of the ‘Tastin Konjac Rice’ series, which reduce calories and increase protein content, reflecting the recent rise in demand for high-protein foods.
The Tastin Konjac Rice series introduced by CU this time is the first konjac instant rice sold at CU. It is a high-protein, low-calorie product developed to allow health-conscious women in their 20s and 30s to easily manage their diet in daily life.
It is released in two types: ‘Tofu & Brown Rice Oat Konjac Rice’ and ‘Tofu & Mushroom Konjac Rice,’ containing about 190 kcal, approximately 15% lower than regular instant rice.
In particular, during the product development process, recipes created by Michelin-starred Korean cuisine chefs were supplemented with advice from nutrition professors to complete a healthy weight management diet that balances taste and nutrition.
The Tastin Konjac Rice series uses various natural ingredients rich in protein such as tofu, soybeans, oats, and brown rice, allowing consumption of 9 to 10 grams of protein, up to five times more than regular konjac rice products. Additionally, 4 mg of zinc, which helps improve immunity, is added to prevent nutritional imbalances that may occur during diet control. This amount corresponds to 47% of the daily recommended intake for an average adult woman.
The Tofu & Brown Rice Oat Konjac Rice is baked in an oven and stir-fried once more, harmoniously blending chewy and mild tofu with brown rice and oats. The Tofu & Mushroom Konjac Rice is cooked with water infused with mushrooms and contains whole shiitake and wood ear mushrooms, allowing consumers to enjoy the original taste and aroma of the ingredients even more.
