Gwangju Bank Holds Joining Ceremony for Women's Archery Team Players
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank held an induction ceremony for its women's professional archery team at its headquarters on the 15th.
The Gwangju Bank archery team has been focusing on player selection and team establishment preparations, including appointing Coach Kim Sung-eun, a Gwangju Women's University alumna who produced Olympic gold medalists such as Ki Bo-bae, Choi Mi-sun, and An San, as the head coach and general manager of the women's archery team. Song Jong-wook, president of Gwangju Bank, has been personally overseeing the progress and actively supporting the establishment of the women's archery team.
Led by Coach Kim Sung-eun, the team confirmed the recruitment of players An San, Choi Mi-sun, Kim Min-seo, and Park Na-yoon, and held the induction ceremony for the Gwangju Bank women's archery team. Player An San is expected to join the team upon her graduation at the end of next year.
An San is currently a national team athlete. She made history as the first archer to win three gold medals at the ‘2020 Tokyo Olympics’ held in July last year, followed by two gold medals at the ‘2021 World Archery Championships,’ a gold medal in the team event at the ‘2022 Archery World Cup’ held in Gwangju last May, and recently won two gold medals at the ‘2022 Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage 4’ held in Medell?n, Colombia. She was also appointed as a Gwangju Bank public relations ambassador in October last year and is actively promoting the bank.
Choi Mi-sun is also currently active as a national team athlete, having won gold medals in both individual and team events at the ‘2022 Archery World Cup,’ a team gold medal at the ‘2019 Universiade,’ and a team gold medal at the ‘2019 Asian Championships.’
Players Kim Min-seo and Park Na-yoon have shown outstanding performances in various domestic and international competitions and are considered promising athletes with expected future success.
The official launch ceremony announcing the start of the Gwangju Bank women's archery team and the team name declaration will be held on the 18th, alongside the 54th anniversary celebration of Gwangju Bank’s founding.
