View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Port Authority (BPA) recently received a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups in the ‘2022 Large and Small-Medium Enterprise Win-Win Growth Awards’ for its contributions to coexistence and cooperation with the local community and small and medium enterprises.
BPA successfully developed the world’s first ‘LNG-Hybrid Handling Equipment (Straddle Carrier)’ in collaboration with small and medium enterprises in 2022, and operates the ‘BPA SME Win-Win Fund’ worth a total of 16 billion KRW.
It has also taken the lead in co-growing with the local community through activities such as providing quarantine masks, organizing group blood donations, and hosting charity events.
BPA is actively promoting technology development in collaboration with SMEs to enhance the technological competitiveness of the port industry while supporting the independence of small and medium enterprises. Through this, it has completed three joint investment R&D projects and is currently pursuing six projects.
